About this work
Christ's dead body is anointed and wrapped in cloths. Various women, including Mary and Mary Magdalene, mourn at his bier. In the background to the right, Christ is carried into the rock tomb. On the left, the guards come running who will guard the tomb. Letters are placed at various elements of the scene. The print is part of an album.
