About this work

During the journey to Rome, Paul's ship runs aground off the coast of Malta. On the left, the inhabitants of Malta have lit a fire for the shipwrecked. Paul is bitten by a poisonous snake by the fire, but remains unharmed. Letters are placed next to various elements of the representation. The print is part of an album.
