About this work
The prodigal son squanders his inheritance with the ladies of light morals. He has himself entertained in a pleasure garden with music and benevolent ladies. In the foreground he dances with a woman. On the ground lie playing cards and on the right a woman keeps the tally stick. In the background the prodigal son, after the money is gone, is chased out of the inn or brothel. Letters are placed at various elements of the representation. The print is part of an album.
