About this work

Illustration for the story 'Annette et Lubin' from J.F. Marmontel's story collection 'Contes moraux'. Annette and Lubin are niece and nephew. Unaware that they are doing something forbidden, they fall in love with each other. Lubin's father corrects his son. Annette stands crying in the doorpost.
