About this work

The bookseller tells a customer that the memoirs of Marie Lafarge are sold out. She was the main suspect in a sensational trial and was suspected of having murdered her husband with arsenic. The bookseller does have comparable works on stock by French criminals such as Eugène François Vidocq, Louis Dominique Cartouche and Louis Mandrin. Numbered in the top right corner: 79.
