Depicted in his library in his house on the Lange Ridderstraat is Auguste de Bruyne, bibliophile and dealer from Mechelen. He sits on a chair holding a print in his hands. On the bookshelf stand a statue and a painting. In the room hangs a coat of arms on a chain with the tools of an engraver.
