About this work
A boy and a woman look through one of the windows of a peep show. Next to the booth sits the owner with a board of coins on his lap. Next to him, a dog and a donkey. On the right, three soldiers stand; one embraces a young woman. In the background, a boy climbs up a pole. The pole and the peep show are decorated with French flags. Numbered bottom left: No. 271.
