Issue 216 of the French magazine L'Assiette au Beurre, published on 20 May 1905. This is a special issue dedicated to the auction house (L'Hotel des ventes') with satirical illustrations designed by Emmanuel Barcet. The cover features a portrait of auctioneer Paul Chevallier holding a hammer aloft in his right hand. In the foreground, a painting is shown depicting a reclining female nude in a landscape with the text 'Vrai Troyon', a reference to the painter Constant Troyon.
