About this work

Roman bas-relief from a sarcophagus. Orpheus is attacked by the Maenads of Ciconia, who kill him. In the center below is the coat of arms of Vincenzo Giustiniani. The print is part of an album with a series of prints after the sculptures in the collection in the Galleria Giustiniani in Rome.
