About this work

Sonobe Saemon looks with a fan in his hand at the cherry blossoms. In his other hand he has a poem, written by Princess Usuyuki. This poem is the cause of their tragically ending love for each other. Scene from a kabuki play. Poem by the writer Ono no Komachi.
