About this work
Bookcase with three shelves with books, including Louis Couperus' 'Majesteit' and Thérèse Hovens' 'Uit het land der klapperboomen', both published by Uitgeversmaatschappij L.J. Veen. In the middle over the books a monogram with the letters L, J and V. Above the bookcase is the coat of arms of the Veen family with the year 1887 above it, the founding year of the publisher. At the bottom is 'Amsterdam'. In the four corners of the scene are monograms with the letters L, J and V.
