About this work

Rocky river landscape with classical Roman ruins. On the right on the roof terrace of a building three white boys try to wash the black skin color of a Moor. This is the representation of an emblem with the message the impossibility of certain undertakings. The print has a Latin inscription with the caption of the emblem Impossibile by Andrea Alciati.
