About this work

A flower vase containing a king, looking back to the left. In his hands he holds a scepter and orb. The depiction is part of the succession of Persian kings in the Liber Chronicarum. The text identifies the man as Artabanus, former commander of the bodyguard of Xerxes I. The print is part of an album.
