About this work

A painting depicting Christ appearing to Peter at the gate of Rome, within an ornamental frame with putti and nude boys. Peter asks Christ "Quo vadis, Domine?". Christ answers "Eo Romam iterum crucifigi" (I go to Rome to be crucified again). Surrounding the frame are images of nude figures and personifications. Print is part of an album.
