About this work
The actor Bandô Mitsugorô III in the role of Jûrô Sukenari, one of the Soga brothers. In his right hand he holds a fan, and with his left hand he holds up a small table on which lies a command stick. The pattern of plovers on the trousers of his costume refers to the role he plays.
