About this work

Satirical print on the state of the country in the year 1762, and the attempts of George III to achieve peace during the Seven Years' War. Chaos as the city is on fire with attempts to extinguish the flames. Others attack the firemen with hoses or run with buckets of water in the opposite direction. On the left, a Dutchman sits calmly smoking a pipe on a bale of goods.
