About this work
Satirical print from 1773 on the partition of Poland by Frederick the Great of Prussia, Joseph II of Austria, Stanislaus II of Poland, and Catherine the Great of Russia. Fame blows on two trumpets. The treaty leading to the First Partition of Poland was signed on 17 February 1772. Execution officially began on 5 August 1772. Copy after the original by Lemire.
