About this work

Kabuki actor Nakamura Fukusuke in the role of Ôhara Takematsu, with a folded fan in his hand, within a colorful circular frame. The black and gold part of the frame is the border of a mirror of black and gold lacquer. The blue and red parts are patches of fabric with a motif of stylized starfish and cherry blossoms.
