About this work
Christ as the Good Shepherd, seated under a tree with a sheep on his shoulders. In his left hand he holds a handle from which two baskets hang containing flowers and fruit. Next to him hangs a small vessel on a branch. At his feet lie and stand three other sheep. To the left grows a grapevine with clusters: a reference to the Eucharist.
