About this work

In the kitchen, the dish 'Peace' is being prepared. Lord Salisbury is the cook holding the pan 'Peace' up to Annie Botha, the wife of Louis Botha. Annie Botha wants to add a good dose of 'independence' to the pan first. Joseph Chamberlain is on the left, Louis Botha on the right. Annie Botha played a mediating role in peace negotiations between the Boers and the British.
