About this work

German Emperor Wilhelm II presents the Dutch Maiden with a bouquet of flowers. John Bull (England) and Marianne (France) whisper to each other in the background. Not visible are the five miniatures of the 'Oranierfürsten' (statues of five stadtholders placed in front of the Berliner Stadtschloss), which Queen Wilhelmina received from Emperor Wilhelm II on August 31, 1906, as a birthday present.
