About this work

The judicial angel Uriël (the spokesperson for official art) banishes Adam and Eve from paradise. Both figures dressed in animal skins and body-covering clothing (tricot). Possibly in connection with the performance of Vondel's play Adam in Exile in 1908 in Amsterdam by Willem Royaards and the Royal Association 'Het Nederlandsch Tooneel'.
