The woman Insulinde, the former colony of the Dutch East Indies, sitting at her dressing table, is beautified by the journalist Charles Boissevain with various powders and perfumes. In connection with the published letters of Boissevain: "Tropical Netherlands. Impressions of a journey through the Dutch East Indies".
