Four gentlemen, Kolkman, Wentholt, Heemskerk and Lohman, are playing cards in the salon. Lohman asks the maid Naatje (The Dutch Maiden) if she can silence the parrot, Abraham Kuyper, who only shouts 'anti-thesis'.
