About this work

The English King George V finds the story of Christ and the woman caught in adultery, on the painting to the left, unbelievable. In connection with the report that the King would not receive divorced women at court prior to his coronation. On the right, the Archbishop of Canterbury Randall Davidson makes a defensive gesture upon hearing this remark.
