About this work

A German military court in which everyone has a red nose from drink. In the background a statue of Justitia, adorned with a 'pickelhaube' and holding a bottle of schnapps and a beer mug instead of scales. On the left two men who probably represent the accused French state, the shackled defendant possibly being the French president Raymond Poincaré.
