About this work
Complete unfaded triptychs (three-part prints) from this early period are rare. The difference in colour of the green slope in the background of the right and middle sheet has to do with the popularity of triptychs. To prevent printers from selling triptychs illegally, publishers would work with different printers. This sometimes resulted in variations in colour between the three sheets.
