About this work

Sample book from ca. 1830, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers, or his representative in the Netherlands. Album in hard cardboard binding with a flap on the short side. Leaves are mostly alternating white and blue paper. On the blue paper pages, the numbered samples are pasted, and on the opposite page the corresponding numbers and specifications. It concerns various ornaments and machine-stamped decorative strips of metal paper, but also sample decorative paper with labels, paper cuttings, small colored prints, figures for a peep show, fan leaves, prints with movable parts, and much more.
