About this work
Chairman Nicolaas Arnold Calisch plays the harp and sings laments as the prophet Jeremiah at the closing of the World Exhibition for the Hotel and Travel Industry in November 1895. Among the ruins, the weeping Arnold Kerdijk drifts on a trunk marked 'Perry'.
