About this work
The hot-air balloon 'Extension of the Franchise' takes off with Minister Tak van Poortvliet as the sole passenger, released by the ministers of the Van Tienhoven cabinet. To gain altitude, Tak van Poortvliet jettisons the 'Writing Test' as ballast. A large crowd watches.
