About this work
The dessert as presented on the four main tables during the banquet given by the German minister and envoy Baron von Reischach in the Mauritshuis on 19 January 1746, on the occasion of the coronation of Francis I Stephen as Emperor on 4–6 October 1745. Still lifes in the form of four ornamental gardens with columns, pavilions, temples, allegorical figures, and angels.
