About this work
Top: View of the exterior of Honselaarsdijk Palace with a cheerful crowd during the change of ownership, 1754. The palace was sold by Frederick the Great to Anna of Hanover on 21 February 1754 as part of the Prussian lordships in Holland. Bottom: Four people around a table with documents during the transfer of the Prussian lordships in Holland, which Anna of Hanover bought as a whole for ƒ 700,000 for her then five-year-old son, hereditary stadtholder Willem V. She made Honselaarsdijk Palace available to her daughter, Princess Carolina. Two depictions on one plate.
