View of Slot Loevestein. Rombout Hogerbeets and Hugo de Groot were both sentenced to life imprisonment in the castle on May 18, 1619. Top left the coat of arms of Holland, top right that of Maurits van Oranje. On the left the arrival of the prisoners escorted by soldiers. In the distance the cities of Woudrichem and Gorinchem. At the bottom two portraits of the condemned and a second view of Loevestein with a short description of the event.
