About this work
Map of the Brugse Vrije, the largest bailiwick of the County of Flanders. In the lower left, the title cartouche with two scale bars at the bottom: Milliare Germanicum commune / 2 Milliaria Gallica communia. On the left side of the cartouche, a costume figure with the coat of arms of the County of Flanders, in mirror image, and on the right side, a costume figure with probably the coat of arms of Ostend. Above the cartouche, two shields with a lion, possibly the coats of arms of Bruges and, again, the County of Flanders. With French text on the verso.
