In the middle part an aerial view of the harbour of Bruges and the beginning of the canal to Ostend. In the bottom left a scale bar: 40 Bruges Rods. In the lower part a map of the canal from Bruges to Ostend. Below, in the middle, a cartouche with scale bar: 500 Bruges Rods. In the top right of the cartouche the coat of arms of the Brugse Vrije. The print was probably made to proclaim the good accessibility of the city, improved by the construction of a new harbour basin.
