View of the Third Heiligewegspoort and its associated bridge in Amsterdam, seen from outside the city. A banner with the title is in the center at the top. This city gate, designed by Jacob van Campen, was built between 1636 and 1638 to replace the wooden Second Heiligewegspoort. After the Fourth Expansion and the construction of the Leidsepoort (1664), this building had lost its function as a city gate; it was demolished that same year. Dutch text on the verso.
