About this work
Here the repair of the damage is further along. In the upper print, left of center, men are busy filling the hole in the dike near the inn of Jaap Hannes with sandbags. According to the legend, this required around 7000 sandbags. In the lower print, one sees that the hole in the dike at Houtewael has already been partially filled with earth.
