About this work

Duyfken is ready, dressed in her pilgrim clothing with cloak, hat and staff, to begin her pilgrimage but her sister Willemynken is still in bed and is in no hurry. A second scene from the devotional booklet shows the two sisters on the way as they follow the course of the river to Heavenly Jerusalem. The two women kneel at the bank to wash and purify themselves of their sins.
