About this work

Left plate. Roman soldiers fight each other outside the city of Damascus. Horses become panicked. Paul stands in the middle of the print and is accompanied by his companions to the city (Acts 9:8). Centrally at the top, Christ appears from the clouds with two angels. Two banderoles next to Christ quote Acts 9:4-5. A banderole centrally at the bottom quotes further from Acts 9.
