About this work
Mary with a scepter in her right hand and the Christ child on her right arm. Christ holds the orb with cross in his hands, symbol of his world dominion. Mary stands herself on an orb which is being strangled by a snake, symbol of original sin which holds the world in its grip. Mary however tramples the snake with her left foot. Together with Christ she is the symbol of the victory over sin.
