About this work

A statue of the goddess of love Venus, with her companion Amor placed in a niche. Next to them two swans which usually pull the chariot of Venus. On the wall turtledoves and a burning heart as symbols for love and a shell reminding of Venus' birth from the sea. Under the image a Latin inscription.
