About this work

A statue of the god Apollo placed in a niche. On the wall hang attributes of Apollo, such as a jug with a sun and a moon, as a symbol for Apollo's task as the sun god. The four horse heads come from the horses that usually pull Apollo's chariot. Apollo holds a lyre as the god of poetry and music. Under the image a Latin verse.
