About this work

On a large square in Athens a large group of people is gathered. On a raised platform stands an urn from which the oracle determines the names of the Athenian youths who must be sacrificed to the monster Minotaur. On the left stands the Greek hero Theseus who will eventually kill the monster and free the Athenians from the burden.
