About this work
The element water, personified by a river goddess. She is surrounded by water with all kinds of fish and sea creatures. In one hand a compass, in the other a ship. Water flows from her breasts and from her hair. Also from shells and urns around her water flows. The print has a Latin inscription. The print is part of a four-part series on the four elements.
