About this work

Departure of Charles II, King of England, with his fleet from Scheveningen to England on 2 June 1660. On the beach and in the dunes troops and spectators have gathered. The fleet lies at anchor awaiting the crew who are on their way in boats. In the lower margin the event is explained in English and Dutch with text and twelve numbers corresponding to the representation.
