About this work
Leda is depicted semi-reclining, with the swan (Jupiter) between her legs. They kiss. On the right sit Castor and Pollux, the children born of this union. An egg lies on the ground. According to the Latin verse in the lower margin, the girl Helen is in this egg. This is Helen of Troy, also a daughter of Leda and Jupiter.
