About this work

Cephalus is in the chariot of Aurora and tries to resist Aurora's embraces. In the foreground on the right, Tithonus lies sleeping. In the foreground on the left lies a dog. The print originally belonged to liber 22 of the Atlas van Rome by Michiel Hinloopen (Schijnvoet book 10).
