About this work
Andromeda, the daughter of an Ethiopian king, is chained to a rock. In the background Perseus defeats the sea monster to be able to rescue Andromeda. Scene from the Metamorphoses by Ovidius. A crowd on the coast watches. The print originally belonged to liber 22 of the Atlas van Rome by Michiel Hinloopen (Schijnvoet book 10).
