About this work

The personification of the city of Venice thrones on a cloud deck between the two pillars of a balcony and is crowned by an angel. She is surrounded by personifications of Honor, Peace and Abundance and the allegorical figures Hercules, Mercury and Juno. On and under the balcony onlookers watch. Upper part of a print that is part of a 53-print series after paintings by Titian and Veronese.
