About this work
The Saint Francis of Assisi kneels in a church and above him appear Christ and Mary with angelic choir. Mary acts as intercessor for humanity and presents Francis to Christ. Next to Christ sits a saint with crozier, mitre and book, possibly Saint Dominic. On the book lie three objects over which Christ pronounces his blessing, these can symbolize the virtues obedience, poverty and chastity. Below the representation is a Latin verse.
